High School Athletics
Here at QFI we pride ourselves on self-development through competition and teamwork. We are a national independent high school athletic program that competes against public and private schools across the US. Our program is designed for student-athletes that are currently in the 9th-12th grades or actively pursuing their G.E.D. Our hope is to give them the best opportunity for exposure and success while competing on a high level of competition and more importantly, an intense focus on education and employment.  Through our current partnerships with Under Armor, CSA Prepstar, The Charlotte Sports Group, Cricket Communications and public & private schools we can insure that our goals and the student-athletes goals will be met. We currently offer Varsity Football,Varsity Basketball (Girls and Boys), Track & Field and Cheerleading with adding more programs in the near future.

Q Foundation bests Carolina Pride for state title

The first time Carolina Pride faced Q Foundation this season, turnovers were an issue for the Fighting Falcons, and Carolina Pride won that Oct. 23 game by 17 points.

The roles were reversed in their rematch Friday night.

In a battle for the Carolina Independent Athletic Association Division 2A State Championship, it was the Q Foundation that made the most of Carolina Pride’s mistakes and took home the trophy with a 16-3 victory.

“We went to the state championship last year, our first year, and lost (to South Carolina's Camden Military Academy),” said Q Foundation coach Stepha'n "Coach Q" Askew. “But we came back and got (the championship) this year.”

The Falcons scored early with a 5-yard rushing touchdown from running back James Stuckey.

“I thought I wasn’t going to get it,” Stuckey said of his touchdown. “I thought the cornerback was going to knock me back, but I reached out and touched the pylon, and the referee called, ‘Touchdown.’ We had the first touchdown. I knew we had the win.”

Carolina Pride got on the board with 1 minute, 17 seconds left in the first quarter when junior kicker Luke Henderson knocked a 42-yard field goal through the uprights. But Carolina Pride had problems with penalties and getting away from the Falcons' defensive line.

Carolina Pride coach Dustin Fuzzell admitted his team was a little out of sync following two weeks of inactivity.

“It’s been a wet week,” Fuzzell said. “We hadn’t got to practice but one time this week. We were off last week due to (Camden Military) forfeiting, so we’ve been out of sync really the last couple weeks.

“No excuses, though," he added. "I have to give credit where credit is due: (Q Foundation) played a heck of a ball game, and they really stepped up tonight and played well, and we really didn’t show up.”

The Q Foundation defense sacked Carolina Pride quarterback Ray Mallos four times in the fourth quarter. Defensive back Edward Jones tracked down Mallos in the end zone, resulting in a safety early in the fourth quarter.

Stuckey sealed the championship when he caught a 45-yard pass from quarterback Davion Smith for the final touchdown.

Carolina Pride finished the season 9-3 and was the conference champion. The Falcons (6-6) ended the season on a high note after a slow start.

“They know, if not any other day, today they are champions,” said Coach Q.
